My Philosophy
My desire is to be a successful teacher and make a difference in my community
by serving the needs of students that face lifelong challenges. Through academics, social awareness, life skills and a caring attitude, I believe students can reach their fullest potential. I plan to help all my students grow and develop while making it clear that they can be accepted just as they are regardless of their disabilities. My main focus as a teacher is to provide the best learning environment for each and every one of my students.

Letter grades will be determined by the following work:
These percentages are approximate and vary depending on what we actually accomplish each term. However,
please be aware the writing assignments are weighted heavily.
Overall Grading scale:
Determination of Work Habits grades:
Determination of Cooperation grades:
Ability to maintain courteous relations with the teacher and other students. Consistency of obeying policies and rules
Parent Conferences:
Parent conferences will be held during Ms. Caino’s conference period. The hours vary depending on the day
of the week of instructional day schedule. Conferences can be arranged by several methods:
Students will be given class assignments after lecture, interactive discussion and activity, to learn about a particular
topic. All homework will be either based on class work, or will be a standard academic practice such as reading
comprehension, that will be reinforced for homework. Intervention will mostly master their assignment requirements
in class.
Students in all classes (except Math Intervention) will generally receive a relatively easy homework assignment.
We will review it in class. If for some reason the student is unable to complete the assignment, the student may or
may not be given extra time based on the discretion of the circumstance surrounding the incompletion. Homework
will also be sent home midweek if a student is unable to complete an assignment in class. This does not fair well on
their grade however, as it may have been due to personal engagement in the class assignment (i.e., they chose to play
instead of work).
Daily Contracts and Policy:
It is very important to me that all students maintain positive behavior and good working habits in my classroom.
Students will have a daily contract where work habits and other criteria will be reflected. At the end of week on
Friday students ill take home the contract to get signed and brought back to school on the following Monday.
Students must bring back paper signed to get full points.
I look forward to a fabulous year!
